Lizzy McKay
Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Lizzy has worked in pelvic health since 2019, at St George’s, St Helier and Guy’s and St Thomas’, and most recently as a Highly Specialised Pelvic Health Physiotherapist at The London Clinic on Harley Street. She has now moved to Bristol and we are delighted she has joined the Pelvix team.

Bowel problems are her particular strength. They are the symptoms people find hardest to bring up, and often the ones that have been managed least well. Lizzy has worked within colorectal services and is confident treating faecal incontinence and bowel-related pelvic floor problems. She also covers bladder symptoms, prolapse, persistent pelvic pain, and antenatal, postnatal and post-surgical recovery, and she sees both men and women.

She started out in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, which is why she is good with pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain and with patients carrying more than one problem at once. Her training in pain science and graded motor imagery shapes how she works with people whose symptoms have gone on a long time.

Training includes POGP menopause management; ACPGBI current concepts in faecal incontinence; graded motor imagery with Tim Beames; AACP foundation acupuncture; and ongoing bladder health and continence education.

You will not be rushed through your appointment. Lizzy takes the time to hear the whole story and get to the root of your issues.
