Melissa McDonnell

Melissa McDonnell
Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Melissa brings more than a decade of experience across NHS pelvic health and musculoskeletal services, working at senior level alongside consultants in Urology, Urogynaecology, Post-Obstetric Injury and Colorectal clinics. She was also part of the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service pilot — a project that has since been rolled out nationally.

Her particular interests are postnatal recovery, return to running and strength training after pregnancy, obstetric injury rehabilitation, urinary and bowel dysfunction, and diastasis. She is also APPI Pilates-qualified, which feeds directly into how she rehabilitates and progresses patients back to full activity.

Training includes POGP female urinary dysfunction and childbearing year/OASI, dyspareunia and vaginismus, diastasis rehab, pelvic floor and lower bowel dysfunction, POCUS foundation, pregnancy-related lumbopelvic rehab and APPI Pilates.

Direct, efficient and genuinely enthusiastic about what she does — Melissa’s patients tend to leave with a clear plan and the confidence to follow it.
